Noreen Kam, an account supervisor for the Honolulu public relations firm McNeil Wilson Communications, has taken the job as chief communications officer at the Hawaii State Energy Office.
She will begin her new job on Aug. 13.
Kam, who has 10 years of experience in broadcast television in Hawaii as a news and creative services producer for both KHNL and KITV, replaces former Honolulu newspaper reporter Rick Daysog.
Daysog left the State Energy Office, which is part of the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, to become a reporter for Hawaii News Now.
Kam spent five years at McNeil Wilson Communications in the travel and tourism division, providing public and media relations services to clients such as Marriot Resorts Hawaii and the Honolulu Festival.
?It?s just a good opportunity,? she told PBN. ?I have a family and just having the benefits of working for the state is conducive to my lifestyle.?
